Iconic scenes from Cleethorpes have transformed one of the resort’s landmark buildings after a local artist was tasked with a unique challenge.
The skills of talented artist Sarah Palmer, who runs her business The House with the Blue Door, were called upon by Cleethorpes Library as part of a creative project to redesign one of the building’s main window panels.
Caroline Moorby, Arts Development Officer, Lincs Inspire said: “The redesign was a great opportunity to be creative and celebrate everything we love about Cleethorpes. Sarah’s sketches are so colourful and distinctive, they make us pause to appreciate the beauty we have on our doorstep. We’re delighted with the outcome.”
Depicted are The Ferris Wheel, The Mouse & Moon, The Boy with the Leaking Boot, The Pier and of course Cleethorpes Library, all pictured behind paddle boarders enjoying the sunset.
Sarah said: "I was so happy to work on this lovely project celebrating some of the landmarks of the area. I hope that my work brightens the front of the library building."
The creation has also been captured to watch as a time lapse video, click here to view.
Sarah’s colourful sketches are available to buy through the gift shop at Cleethorpes Library, selling unique items by local artists and local history merchandise.
The Shop is open Monday to Thursday, 8:30am to 5:30pm, Saturday 9am to 1pm. For more information visit lincsinspire.com.
