Special Educational Needs and Disabilities: Have your say on SENDIASS

Special Educational Needs and Disabilities: Have your say on SENDIASS: 10503 SEND Branding CHOSEN

North East Lincolnshire Council is always looking to improve the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) services provided.

You are invited to share your views and experiences about the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) in North East Lincolnshire.

The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information Advice and Support Service offers information, advice and support for parents and carers of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). This service is also offered directly to young people.

The service is free, impartial, and confidential.

The current SENDIASS is provided by Barnardo’s.

As the contract with Barnardo’s comes to an end, it is an opportunity to seek the views of parents and carers who have, or may access the service to share their thoughts, ideas, and views.

The Local Authority want to ensure that the service that is provided remains relevant and up to date for local parents and carers.

The survey only takes about five minutes to complete.

Councillor Ian Lindley, portfolio holder for children, education and young people at North East Lincolnshire Council, said: “It is important that children and young people and their parents and carers get the right information, advice and guidance.

“SENDIASS is one of the ways that they can get information and support outside of Local Council services.

“This is a valuable opportunity for you to let us know what it is that you need, and helps ensure that we get the right service to suit the needs of our local people.

“This survey is open to children and young people as well as their parents and carers.”

To take part in the survey visit the ‘Have your say’ section on the SEND Local Offer website by visiting https://sendlocaloffer.nelincs.gov.uk.

If you need to speak to someone to give your views, ask any questions or need a paper copy of the survey please ring the SEND team on 01472 323166 or send an email to sen@nelincs.gov.uk.

The survey closes on Monday, 2 August, 2021.
